With the presence of the Ministry of Public Education and Culture and in coordination with the Government of Mazatlán, actions are promoted by the Government of México to strengthen the culture of peace and prevention from the classrooms by young people and adolescents.
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Education is the basis of a culture of peace and an essential part of the National Security Strategy, which allows us to build a more conscious and supportive Mazatlán, emphasized the Municipal President, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, when attending this Saturday the event “National Day for Peace and against Addictions”, held in the auditorium of the Industrial Technical Secondary School No. 5, within the framework of the Culture of Peace Strategy promoted at the national level.
With the presence of the State Government, through the Secretary of Public Education and Culture (SEPyC), Gloria Himelda Félix Niebla, and with the presence of the student community from various secondary and higher education schools, as well as the host of the Technical Secondary School No. 5, President Estrella Palacios participated in the activation to start the activities of this national campaign.
During his welcome message, Palacios Domínguez highlighted the importance of educational institutions becoming spaces for reflection, prevention and support for girls, boys and adolescents, since peace is built from education and from every action that promotes respect, empathy and common well-being.
«In Mazatlán we want to see you grow, laugh, learn, create and build a future where well-being and joy always accompany you, that is why I want you to continue developing and achieve all the dreams you set out to achieve. “We as an authority are going to continue working to give them parks and sports spaces, streets in good condition, illuminated, and opportunities for art and self-discovery,” he said.
The “National Day for Peace and Against Addictions” aims to strengthen the bond between schools, families and communities, generating a network of social support that contributes to prevention, a sense of belonging and inclusion. This initiative seeks to create safer and healthier environments that guide young people toward positive lifestyles and away from risky behaviors.

For his part, Félix Niebla expressed to the young people who in Sinaloa It is educated with the value of peace and against addictions, always joining the actions promoted by the President of the Republic, Doctor Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, in response to the causes.
The Municipal Government of Mazatlán, through its different agencies, reaffirms its commitment to public policies that are promoted by the different levels of government and that promote prevention, education in values and a culture of peace, working hand in hand with the educational sectors and Mazatlán families to build a more just, safe and harmonious future for all.
