Mazatlán.- Just over a month and a half before the end of 2025, the Government of Mazatlán has already exceeded the goals of its annual Public Works Program. Of the 137 scheduled works, the administration headed by Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez already has 147 projects completed or underway.
In an interview this Wednesday, he highlighted the progress made in urban infrastructure, particularly in paving and rehabilitation of water and drainage networks, with an investment of close to 170 million pesos.
“In addition to paving, we completely change the damaged pipes, that is, we replace the entire hydrosanitary network. That means better streets and a better quality of life for the Mazatlans. In those 93 ‘complete package’ roads, 169.9 million pesos have been invested.”

The mayor also reported that her team is working on the review of the 2026 budget project, with the participation of councilors, the attorney general and different municipal agencies. The objective, he said, is to adjust spending to the most urgent needs of the population.
“We are doing the analyzes to define priorities, always putting people’s needs first. Our vision is that well-being reaches everyone,” he emphasized.

Among the areas that will receive greater attention are paving, strengthening the plumbing network, rescuing public spaces and promoting culture, sports and education.
In this last area, the Estrella Palacios government has allocated more than 20 million pesos to educational infrastructure, with works such as classrooms, perimeter walls, roofs, multi-purpose fields and deliveries of paint and mini-splits to different schools.
“We want the benefits to also reach rural and urban neighborhoods that have historically been forgotten,” the mayor reiterated.
