Government assures Sinaloa continuity in search efforts for missing persons

Given the problem represented by the forced disappearance of people in Sinaloa Governor Rubén Rocha Moya recognized how this situation continues to affect various sectors of Sinaloa society and stated that his government maintains search and support actions to care for the families of the victims.

It was during her inaugural speech on the Peace Path in Parque Central de Mazatlán, where Rocha Moya addressed the issue of missing people in the entity, after a mother approached her to explain the case of her son’s disappearance.

The Governor expressed that, although he heard said case punctually, he stressed that the situation is not isolated and that the State Government works permanently to provide responses to families who face this same reality.

“A woman approached me with great sadness and told me that she had a missing son and I reiterated that we are attending to this case, like everyone else. To this mother, like everyone else, I reiterate that we are searching,” he said.

“To have security in Sinaloa, We work with joint operations between the Army, Navy and National Guard, especially in cases of disappearance,” he added.

Rocha Moya pointed out that, in the event of any indication related to the disappearance of a person, a special operation is activated in coordination with various security corporations to carry out operational deployments that are mobilized immediately when the case warrants it.

In this sense, the Governor stated that this joint work allows the search to be accelerated from the first hours, avoiding delays that could affect the investigations.

“I want to tell you that, when the disappearance of a person is reported, we activate a special operation immediately, without delay. When an indication arises, we do not take long to mobilize, because that is the instruction and that is how we have been operating,” he declared.

The Governor mentioned that these operations have led to recent findings in different parts of the entity, both of located people and of vehicles linked to reports of having been taken from their owners.

Finally, Rocha Moya highlighted that, although the problem is complex, institutions maintain constant coordination to strengthen the reaction capacity and will continue working to offer responses to families affected by disappearances, as well as seek solutions to this problem.
