Searchers from southern Sinaloa placed 72 banners with the faces of missing relatives on various pedestrian bridges in Mazatlán, reported the collective Por las Voces Sin Justicia (For Voices Without Justice).
The banners were distributed at 6:00 a.m. on the city’s main pedestrian bridges to raise awareness of each missing person’s case. The spokesperson explained that “each banner represents a life, a family, a hope, and a way to continue searching, to keep their memory alive, and to remind society that many families are waiting for justice.”
They requested the understanding and support of Display Publicidad and the owners of some of the structures on the pedestrian bridges where the banners were placed, asking them to keep them in place, as this is a humanitarian cause that, sadly, affects hundreds of Mazatlán residents.
They also pleaded with the mayor, Estrella Palacios, to keep the banners on the bridges, which are city property, while the search groups continue their work.
Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez confirmed during a sporting event that the concessionaires of the structures located on the pedestrian bridges removed the tarpaulins at the request of the owners of the spaces, she said.
