A new angle captured from the air shows the moment in which a person manages to leave the interior of the damaged premises, moments after the explosion recorded this Saturday night in the area of the boardwalk, near the Palos Prietos neighborhood.
According to the security and relief bodies, a malfunction in a gas installation would have caused the explosion and the subsequent fire inside a taqueria located in front of Del Mar Avenue. Elements of Municipal Civil Protection, Mazatlán Firefighters and the Municipal Public Security Secretariat activated the corresponding protocols, closing the road and working to put out the fire.
Paramedics treated five people with burns of varying degrees, while the death of three people was confirmed at the scene. Two more were taken to a hospital to receive specialized care.
The Regional Deputy Prosecutor’s Office will be in charge of carrying out the procedures to determine the exact causes of the incident.
