According to Óscar Roberto Osuna Tirado, municipal coordinator of Civil Protection, the transformer failure It originated after the breakage of an internal blade, which resulted in a short circuit and the temporary loss of power supply. The official confirmed that there were no injuries or material damage.
Elements of Civil Protection and the Ministry of Public Security went to the site to review the area and rule out any risk situation. The authorities indicated that the noise was not the result of an explosion or a criminal act, but exclusively of the transformer failure.
Personnel from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) are already working on maneuvers to restore power. Technicians will evaluate during the day whether the equipment requires repair or complete replacement, so the work could last several hours.
The incident generated excitement among residents of the Center, who took to the streets after hearing the noise. The situation was quickly controlled and did not represent any major risk to the population.
