From November to April producers and artisans from the south of Sinaloa They offer their products in Plazuela Zaragoza every Saturday
When the winter season arrives, the Plazuela Zaragoza de Mazatlán is filled with flavors, aromas, colors and visitors every Saturday morning.
Producers and artisans from the municipalities of southern Sinaloa take advantage of this iconic public space in the city center to offer your organic products from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in more than 30 stands that are an example of the strength of the local economy.
From November 2025 to April 2026, the Mazatlán Organic Market lives its season number 15 in which producers hope to establish themselves in the taste of the Mazatlán consumer and continue satisfying the demand of their captive clients from the foreign community.
“We have the 15th season, it is easy to say, but it is a trajectory of a lot of effort, dedication and perseverance. The objective of this project is to find a better alternative for the consumer, as well as to support small producers in the five southern municipalities: Escuinapa, Rosario, Concordia, Mazatlán and San Ignacio, the truth is that it is a market very different from what we normally see in the town,” says Héctor Manuel Ureña Cordero, member of the organizing committee of the Organic Market.

Among the products that this initiative offers to the local consumer are the vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy products, honey, bakery, prepared foods, snow and crafts in addition to promoting culture and art through activities and workshops offered in this same space.
The efforts of those who participate in the Organic Market have focused in the last 15 years on guaranteeing the consumer fresh, natural, healthy products and prepared under responsible practices.
The interest of the local market in this type of organic products grew in the midst of the pandemic and the producers have taken advantage of that momentum to continue growing.
“Although Americans have more of a culture of consuming these types of products, the Mazatlán people from the pandemic here were drawn to organic and we have also worked hard for local commerce, so that they see another alternative. Now the community is more aware of the consumption of organic products and healthier foods and fair trade is also sought for the producer so that it is win-win,” he explains.

Although the uncertainty generated for merchants by the current situation of insecurity that exists in different municipalities of Sinaloa the members of the Organic Market have confidence that the fifteenth season will be positive since the start of activities has demonstrated it.
“The Ministry of Tourism has supported the promotion in Canada and the United States for the destination of Mazatlán and Americans who stay throughout the winter season are arriving and tourists who arrive on cruise ships are also visiting us,” he points out with enthusiasm.
At the Mazatlán Organic Market there are certified products the majority of merchants are local producers trying to offer an affordable price to the consumer on higher quality products.
This initiative not only represents a space for commercial exchange, but a true engine of change in the community.
By promoting responsible consumption and the direct connection between producers and consumers, this market has established itself as a sustainability benchmark and support the local economy.
