Tianguis de Mazatlán extend hours for holiday shopping – Punto MX

Mazatlán.- The Mazatlán flea markets will have extended operations during the holiday season. The Mayor’s Office confirmed that more markets will be authorized to open on December 24 and 31, dates on which sales usually pick up due to last-minute purchases.

The Chief Officer, Fernando Arballo Quintero, explained that the markets of Flores Magón and Villa Unión will be able to open on both festive dates, while the one in the Francisco Villa neighborhood will operate in an extraordinary manner on the 24th, adding to its days on the 22nd and 23rd.

“It is the first time that permits are given for the Pancho Villa flea market on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Likewise, the Flores Magón and Villa Unión flea markets will operate on December 24th and 31st.”

Arballo Quintero explained that the extension of days responds to direct requests from merchants, who seek to take advantage of the increase in consumers.

These flea markets are part of the already traditional Christmas market of the Benito Juárez neighborhood, one of the busiest during December.

The official added that, as of December 1, 115 permits will be granted for commerce on public roads, including 65 for vendors who will participate in the celebrations of the Virgin of Guadalupe on December 11 and 12 in the city center.

For the Benito Juárez Christmas market, which will operate from December 12 to 31, the installation of about 200 merchants is expected.

In addition, another 35 will have permission to work in Plazuela Machado during the season.

Permits for the Christmas Village remain under review

Regarding the Christmas Village 2025, Arballo Quintero reported that the permits to sell within this space are still being analyzed, because the operation depends on suppliers and logistics continues to be refined towards its inauguration on December 19.

“We are reviewing how the permits will be given; for now we are working on the logistics and what will be needed for the Village. The supplier is already proposing some new features for this year,” he said.

As part of the program, he confirmed the holding of a Christmas concert on December 20 within the venue.
