Cuba / La Jornada.- The Cuban government detailed that the humanitarian aid sent by México will be allocated to priority sectors of the population such as children, older adults and pregnant women.
According to information from the Ministry of Internal Trade of the Antillean nation, which was transmitted by the Cuban embassy in México, the 814 tons of products sent by the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, which arrived in Havana last Thursday, will be distributed in the provinces of Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.
On Thursday of last week, the Mexican ships arrived in the capital of the Caribbean country Papaloapan and Holbox Island with an approximate load of 536 tons of food and personal hygiene items, in first; and the second 277 tons of powdered milk.
In this regard, this Tuesday, the revolutionary government – headed by President Miguel Díaz-Canel – reported that this solidarity aid sent by “the brother government of México” consists of food and hygiene products.
With this aid “people from the provinces of Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud will benefit, with priority for children from zero to 13 years old, people over 65 years old, pregnant women and children with low weight and height; as well as vulnerable groups in Havana and Mayabeque.”
The Cuban Ministry of Domestic Trade asserted that the operation to receive and distribute the products “is being carried out with the greatest speed,” so they will gradually arrive in the indicated territories.
