Young people in Culiacán starred in a parade along the Paseo Niños Héroes, or Malecón de Culiacán, this Saturday as part of the National Day for Peace and Against Addictions.
The event brought together hundreds of teenagers from secondary, high school and university levels from different institutions.
The concentration point was at the Culiacán Zoo, and from there they left in the direction of the bimodal bridge, which connects with Las Riberas Park.
During the route, which extended from east to west of the Malecón, traffic remained closed and guarded by Culiacán Municipal Transit officers.
The Secretary of Public Education and Culture of the State, Gloria Himelda Félix Niebla, highlighted the activity as a space to prevent the reach of addictions among youth.
“Aware that it is a way to raise awareness, but above all, act with responsibility for the damage it can cause to our youth.
“What we are doing with this is raising awareness about prevention, taking action before the events occur,” declared Félix Niebla.
He pointed out that to achieve these goals, there must be joint work between educational and health authorities, as well as civil society itself.
“The entire educational community, parents, are committed to making common cause for something we are working on.”
